My Story

​

Before beauty, I was a photographer — capturing weddings, bumps, babies, families and all those little moments people want to remember forever. I loved creativity, faces, detail and making people feel comfortable, but deep down I knew I wanted to build something of my own.

 

So I swapped my camera bag for a beauty kit and trained in beauty therapy, working through my Level 2 Diploma and gaining distinctions in most areas. I learned the foundations — facials, waxing, skin, treatments — but brows quickly became the thing I kept coming back to.

Then, just as I was ready to properly step into beauty, Covid hit. Like so many people, everything paused. The confidence, the plans, the direction — all of it had to be rebuilt.

 

Life moved on, I became a mum, and suddenly I had even more reason to make something work. Motherhood pushed me harder than anything else ever has. It made me tired, emotional, determined, scared and brave all at once.

 

MYFace started in what I lovingly call my glorified summer house — treatments squeezed around my son’s routine, nursery runs and whatever chaos the day decided to throw at me. It was not always luxury salon energy. There were dinosaur roars, sleep-deprived mornings, client chats while my brain felt like mush and even a spider situation that required a tripod rescue mission.

 

But it worked. Clients came. Reviews grew. Confidence grew. The dream became real. And eventually, MYFace moved into its own salon space on Castle Gate in Newark.

 

It has not been perfect, but it has been mine. Every challenge shaped the clinic, the standards and the woman behind it.
