Let me rewind a bit—I used to be a photographer. Yep, the one capturing sunsets, candid smiles, and fleeting moments. From “I Do’s” to “I Can’s,” bumps to babies—I’ve photographed it all. But deep down, there was this itch—an uncharted path calling my name.

So, I swapped my camera bag for a beauty kit. No more f-stops; now it was all about facials, massages, and perfecting those brows. I dove headfirst into college, earning my stripes with a Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy, achieving Distinctions in most topics. The classroom buzzed with secrets of serums, the art of waxing, the science behind that elusive glow, and, of course, the perfect arch.

Then came the BIG surprise… my own small beauty business—whoa, what? Nope—CORONA. Just as I was stepping into the world of beauty, a global pandemic struck. My journey stalled, and I had to rediscover my passion and purpose.

Fast-forward a few years. Life happened—I became a boy mum. And honestly? Life is a whirlwind. Park adventures, dinosaurs on repeat, a toddler whose emotions flip from laughter to tears to anger in two seconds flat—it’s exhausting, chaotic, and wildly motivating. Motherhood pushed me. It demanded more of me, and it revealed the woman I had always wanted—and needed—to be.

But I didn’t give up. I started small—running MYFACE Beauty Clinic out of a glorified shed, fitting treatments around my son’s routine, nursery runs, and my own motherly duties. Some mornings I’d be sleep-deprived, talking through treatments while my brain felt like mush, wondering how I’d impress clients. Other times, a client would stumble on my toddler mid-dinosaur roar, or get squirted with a water gun before a brow session—definitely not our finest professional moments. And then there was the spider that dropped from the ceiling—I had to improvise with a tripod to launch it into the garden. Not exactly luxury salon vibes… but somehow it worked.

The highs? Clients who became friends, leaving treats, glowing 5-star reviews, and sharing their gratitude—it’s moments like these that remind me why I do this. The lows? Nightmare clients who kept me up at night, panicking over how to make them happy, or who didn’t respect the full scope of what I do. Microblading can be tricky too—some brows will make your brain hurt—but learning to regain confidence and trust my skills was all part of the journey.

And then came the dream: my very own salon space. The day I got the keys felt surreal. I had spent months doubting—“Can I do this? What if no one comes? What if it fails?”—but each hurdle I’d survived told me: I can, and I will. The ride has been emotional, chaotic, and exhilarating—but yes… we made it happen.

​

Some days, it’s pure survival mode. And sometimes, it’s that quiet moment in the kitchen on your own, a little much needed hug from a usual wild boy—or a cheeky glass of wine after bedtime —that reminds me: I’m doing this life thing, and I’m doing it my way.

Motherhood and business have taught me resilience, strength, and purpose. Being a mum hasn’t just given me love—it’s given me drive, motivation, and clarity. It forced me to become the woman I always wanted to be: determined, confident, and unafraid to chase the impossible. No, I’m not perfect—but each challenge, setback, and triumph has shaped me into someone stronger, prouder, and far more unapologetically me.

Armed with messy hair most days, a toddler who keeps me on my toes, and a newfound appreciation for authenticity, I’ve created MYFACE Beauty Clinic—a place where confidence, creativity, individuality, and being your REAL self reign.

I’ve been a pescatarian for 17 years—but don’t worry, I’m not one of those preachy types! I love cooking, and sometimes that even includes meat. Motivation, not moral policing—that’s my vibe.

I aspire to expand MYFACE Beauty Clinic to offer more comprehensive beauty services, workshops, and training—sharing my passion and expertise with even more people. Some of my dreams are big, bold, and yes… completely thrilling.
